PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide curriculum leadership and support classroom instruction to ensure an aligned, articulated, and cohesive instructional program.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree from accredited university/preferred
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners

 

Experience:

  • Three years experience as a classroom teacher

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instructional Management

  1. Participate in the evaluation of educational programs.
  2. Work cooperatively with district and campus principals in developing and supporting instructional programs.
  3. Participate in district and grade level/content PLCs.
  4. Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs.
  5. Assist PLC development to enhance professional collegial relationships.

Organizational Climate

  1. Communicate effectively with district and campus staff.

School/Organizational Improvement

  1. Help principals develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain to record and track progress on campus performance, objectives, and academic excellence indicators.
  2. Serve as a curriculum link with central office administration to coordinate with the campus principal to direct activities on any campus related to the responsibilities charged to the position.
  3. Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.

Professional Growth and Development

  1. Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
  2. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
  3. Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators and staff that aligns to district curriculum expectations.
  4. Align district mission and vision.
  5. Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs.
  6. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.

Other

  1. Maintain confidentiality.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
  3. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Occasional district wide travel
  • Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
  • Work with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to monitor and observe student behavior
  • Attend after school night time activities occasionally
  • Maintain emotional control in all situations
  • Do medium work effort exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Bend and stoop and reach fully above head
  • Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities
  • Possess a high level of mental capability
  • Possess good mental health in order to perform all job requirements
  • Be average or better in energy, health and vitality
  • Having regular attendance is an essential function
